Comments about Our Puppies
We enjoy it so much when families email to ask questions or tell us about their new puppies. And we respond to every email we receive, usually within 24 hours.
Below are some messages from our puppies' owners.
I purchased your black mini female with the white blaze born January 11th. My daughter Sarah just loves her and she is such a cute dog and very lovable. Just thought I’d send a few photos of her. She is the littler in to photo of two. I don’t know if you remember but I had another puppy on hold when I came to see you. The mini’s have great personality and are so smart. Things are going just fine with both pups but Jade (your pup) is Sarah’s favorite because she is so small. The vet weighted her Monday and she was just under 7 lbs. He said she will mostly likely be on the small end of their range. The photos are just after being at the groomer. We don’t typically put scarf’s on them.
Just wanted to let you know how she is doing.
By all means you can put it on your website and thanks for the photo. I remember show it through your website to folks here at work that week I was waiting to pick her up.
I have a question since you’ve been raising mini’s awhile. At first my vet said Roxi was big for the breed (the first week I had them) but on Monday when they got there last booster he reversed that as I mentioned earlier saying Jade was on the small side. If they aren’t over weight how much should they weight and what height at the back?
If I remember around Christmas or next January I will send another photo and Jade’s adult weight. I think she will be at about 10 lbs.
I have lost the slip of paper with the dog food you suggested on it. Would you mind telling me again what the name and brand is? I could have sworn you said it was a Kirkland brand. Maggie has been doing very well, but since she’s about out of the food you gave us, I wanted to pick up some more on my way home. Her and Aurora, our other dog, have done surprisingly well together, and Maggie has let us sleep through 2 nights so far without waking us up after 6 hrs. Once we reach 8 hrs, I will be a very happy camper. :)
I hope you are doing well. Thank you again for everything! I told my sister all about you, and she is very excited about the Cavapoos. She has decided that she wanted a puppy and I told her you were the one to see. She may have already emailed you, her name is, Kirby. Anyway, have a wonderful day!
Just a few lines to let you know that my little girl is settled in to her new forever home and from all signs is very happy to be here. She cried the first two nights but now sleeps all night long in her own bed. My eight year old Schnauzer has yet to welcome her into our family but is tolerant of her. I am sure they will be best friends in the future. Lexi is a birthday gift that I will long cherish.
Hi Elizabeth---- My daughter and I would like to look in on your web site as we both have friends who are or will be interested in puppies and we are so pleased with Lexi that we will suggest you as the breeder. Could you please forward your web site address? My new little girl Lexi is growing by leaps and bounds and learning something new every day. She has won over the affection of my older Schnauzer and they romp and play most of the day.She also has me wrapped around her little paws and more or less dictates to me. She has had her second grooming and her feathers and beard are shaping up nicely. The last time I had her to the vet for her 12 week shots she weighed six pounds. I and my family are totally smitten with her.Thank you so much. -- June
We are loving our new little girl. Just want to give you an update on her. She ate a good dinner and went to bed about 9pm. First though, on the way home we stopped at Costco down at the Chandler mall and took her inside with us to buy the bag of puppy food. The Costco greeter said "I'll tell anyone that asks that I didn't see anything." We had no problem shopping with her. Then came home and let her check out our house and yard.
She is eating well and going to pee and poop as needed. Our neighbors have all fallen in love with her too and the friends and family that we have emailed to let them know we are parents again are as excited as we are. I know we will have many happy moments with her. We decided to name her
Cassie after the town where we live. So far, no questions or concerns have come up. Thank you for being so helpful in placing her in our care.
Yes it will be okay with Bill and I to let you have our testimonial about our little puppy. As you know we call her Cassie. She is showing so much enthusiasm and spunk. She loves her toys which we added a few more to her play area. She is such a joy in our lives. We started her with a halter today and small leash to guide her with. We don't walk her but a couple of yards down the street and walk or carry her back. She loves to be outside. We only let her out for a short break when its during the hottest time of day. She is sleeping very well at night with a usual potty break sometime before morning arrives. We are so happy to have her.
We will keep in touch with you as she grows bigger. Thank you so much for bringing her into our life.
Berniece and Bill
We are absolutely so in love with her! I can hardly stand to take my eyes off of her. She and Abigail, her half-sister, are best buddies and are playing together a lot (with lots of supervision!). It really tires Sophia out, so I welcome it but we are watching them like hawks. Best wishes, and stay in touch, ok?
8 hours sleep last night!!!! Thought you'd get a kick out of that. In only one week! We are totally smitten.
Happy New Year!
My little angel is growing by leaps and bounds. Took her in for her second shot, and she weighed in at almost 5 pounds so she is really packing on the pounds. The potty training is still in progress, but I think we're starting to get the hint. She got groomed last week, and she is still kind of a brindle color. I expected she'd be a little more on the silver side, but maybe she's going to be a salt/pepper. Gosh, she's so cute with this haircut! She actually looks like a schnauzer now.
Hope all is going well with you all. Stay in touch, and take care of yourself, my friend.
Just wanted you to know that "Dixie" is doing great. She's quite the little fireball! The boys love her and she loves them back!!! We are working on potty training, but she's been shuffled about quite a bit with being at my Mom's, camping in the RV and now finally home to settle in Alabama, so it has been a little harder. Now that we are settled, we will be working on it full time!!! Today I even groomed her a bit....clipped her back and trimmed around her face! She's so cute!!! Thanks so much for everything.
This was a very special Christmas for us!!! :)
Just wanted to give you an update on Dixie. She is doing very well and we just love her to death. She is getting so big, soooo fast!!! :O). We are still working on potty training and have recently decided to use the crate method, which seems to be working much better than the puddle pads! She loves to be outdoors and is already responding to a few simple commands! She loves to chase the boys around the house and yard. Her favorite game is "catch me if you can"!!! She is also doing great at retrieving! She has made a wonderful addition to our family. Thank you again so much for all your help coordinating her arrival.
I'm sorry it has taken me so long to email you. I have been meaning to write to you and tell you how much we absolutely love Jersey! She is very lovable an yet very spunky and energetic at the same time! She is doing fabulous with potty training and sleeping through the night! We still have to convince our kids that she has legs and can walk. They carry her everywhere. She has definitely brought lots of enjoyment to our family!. I can't imagine how different our lives would be without her. Our older Brussels is adjusting well to her too, occasionally they will run and chase each around either our back yard or the house and we laugh hysterically watching them play together.
Thank you so much for all of the time that you spent with the puppies and her excellent care. Please feel free to use us as a reference for families looking for a wonderful, nurturing, responsible person through which to purchase a puppy!
Hi Elizabeth - Just thought I'd tell you that Bailey is doing great. Her personality has really come out in the last few days. She is so comfortable that every time she is tired she walks into her pen and climbs into her crate to go to sleep. Sometimes she falls asleep in our arms or next to us and then we take her and put her to bed. We've learned that she is fearless... ha, ha. ha!!! We got woken up early this morning by a huge thunderstorm and Bailey didn't seem to even notice. That is so awesome, cause our last 2 dogs were terrified of storms. I just want to say thank you and to say that you have done an excellent job with her and it shows. She does cry a bit when she has to go in her pen when she doesn't want to, but we wait it out and she goes to sleep in about 5 min. She is a ball of energy when she wakes up and she plays really hard, which is probably why she sleeps so good. She is a great puppy...and we love her. I already have her vet appointment scheduled and have sent her picture to all our family. Her first visitor was Grandma and she had to go right out and buy her tons of toys. I'd love to keep in touch and send pictures if I can get her to be still for 2 seconds. Here's one picture that we were able to get.
Hi Elizabeth - I just wanted to send a quick email to let you know how good Bailey is doing and how much we are in love with her. She is doing great with housetraining and it only took her 2 days to learn sit, stay, come and down. We were amazed, but not surprised cause she is such a smart puppy. I am signing her up for puppy classes just so she can socialize with more people and other puppies her age. She took her first walk around the block and she did great. I think taking her out back on a leash to go potty helped with that. I just want to say thanks again.... we absolutely love her. I just wanted to send a recent picture of Bailey. She is 19 weeks and 9 lbs. She has doubled in size. We are curious as to how big she will be... I guess we'll have to wait. She is such a good girl. We love her so much. She just got spayed last week and she came home as if nothing ever happened. All she wanted to do was play... so we had a hard time keeping her from running around. She starts her puppy classes in 2 weeks. I can't wait to see her play with other puppies her age. It will be so good for her I think. Also, she has one problem... everytime she here's someone getting crushed ice from the fridge, she runs over and sits like she is waiting for a treat. I quickly learned that it was my husband that was letting a couple ice chips fall for her. That's the closest thing to people food she is gonna get, and she loves it. I could go on and on about her unique personality but I should save some for my next email. I just thought you'd like to hear how she is doing. I'm still set on only having one dog, but if I ever wanted a 2nd... you'd be the first person I'd call. I can't say enough about what a great job you did with her. She isn't afraid of anything and she is so curious about every new noise she hears. The other day she heard or smelled something out in the yard, and she stopped and pointed... it was the cutest thing. Ok.. I'm gonna stop now. She is just so amazing. Thank you!
(after adopting a second puppy)
I wanted to share a couple photos with you. The 1st one of Riley in my daughters arms is too adorable. The next pic is of Bailey and Riley sharing so nicely, even though they each had their own. Riley is a lot like Bailey, but still very different. She likes to wake up most mornings around 5:30... she'll whine a little and when that doesn't work she decides to howl. It's kind of cute but she knows the rules... she has to be quiet before she comes out. So as soon as she sees someone she lays down or sits and doesn't make a peep. She is smart just like her sister. She has learned - sit, down, stay and she even learned leave it. I take a treat and place it on the floor in front of both of them and tell them leave it.... it took me to repeat leave it 5 times and then she left it alone... then they got their treat. She definitely copies Bailey a lot.
Housebreaking has been so easy with her. I even bought the Spot-Bot carpet cleaner just for her little accidents but I haven't fot to use it yet. She only had a couple accidents and they wer on the tile. She'll go on her wee-pad, but mostly she'll go to the dorr and whine cause whe'd rather go outside. Then I saw Bailey go to the door and whine to go out. So it looks like the puppy is teaching the older one some new tricks too.
Riley is a little firecracker. She loves to creep up behind Bailey and pounce on her. I have a video of them playing ther favorite game, Bailey goes inside the crate with her head sticking out and then Riley comes up and they growl and play bite at each other, while Riley is barking at her the whole time. I'll send it as soon as I figure out how. I think it's so funny and they do it several times every day. They are the best of friends. We love them so much.
(after adopting a third puppy)
Hi Elizabeth -
Things are going so great! I never thought I'd have 3 pups. Now, I can't imagine not having 3. It couldn't be better. It's so funny cause when one of them doesn't want to play, there's always someone else that does. So it works out great. Buddy has learned all the tricks the girls know and now I can't wait to take him on walks... that should be fun. :) He has slept through the nights since the very beginning and now I'm so thrilled that he hasn't been going potty at night. He waits until I let them all out in the morning. During the day he uses the doggie door. He's quite the snuggler... as soon as he see's you he walks over with his whole little body moving back and forth. It's too cute. By the way, Bailey has come to love to eat grasshoppers. First she plays with them and then she eats them when she's done playing. Riley was afraid of them until she saw how much Bailey loved them, so yeah, now Riley eats them too. I haven't seen too many around anymore. I thought I'd send a new picture of them all sitting together. Thanks again for the ear treatment recipe... Bailey use to scratch at her ears daily and now I use it once every 2 weeks and she doesn't scratch at all. AMAZING STUFF!!! The vet gave me ear cleaner and ear drops and it never worked. Now I know to email you first. Ha, ha, ha!!
Thanks for everything and for my smart and beautiful fur-babies. I catch myself daily saying they are the such good dogs. They all come running to me when they see the brush and then they all sit cause they know I brush the first to sit still. So the others wait their turn. It's absolutely amazing. Ok... I'm done! :)
